It's always hard for the children of parents who are splitting up - and the same is true of Walt and Frank Berkman, whose teenage lives in 1970s New York are changed forever when their mother Joan and father Bernard decide to separate, and then divorce. Although their former writer dad is incredibly self-obsessed, 16 year old Walt instinctively takes his father's side. Despite the subject matter of this excellent movie, there's always plenty of dry humour at work, and while the results aren't always hugely cheerful, this is a smart and rewarding story.
This film ontains very strong language and strong sex references.
