In this classic 80’s adventure film, a group of childhood best friends who live in the “Goon Docks” area of Oregon are having a depressing end to their summer. Mike "Mikey" Walsh, Richard "Data" Wang, Clark "Mouth" Devereaux, and Lawrence "Chunk" Cohen are having to deal with the fact their neighborhood is facing demolition due to the planners for a new country club buying up all the land, meaning they will all have to move away from each other. However, when they discover a priceless gold doubloon from 1692 in Mikey’s attic, along with a treasure map drawn up by the legendary pirate called “One-Eyed Willy”, they set out on an epic adventure to uncover the legend and possibly save their homes in the process. Beloved by many, this genre-blending action film mixes thrills, scares and coming-of-age to great effect.
