Set during the Great Depression, this is a superb adaptation of John Steinbeck's celebrated novel. The Joads are a farming family who are forced to flee their home in Oklahoma following the dust bowl storms and ensuing drought. They decide to head for California, where they hope to start a new and better life. But they're not the only people with that idea - and face more hardships and struggle on the long journey. The themes of displacement and struggle are still resonant today.
Adapted from John Steinbeck's novel, this powerful drama sees two drifter friends look for work in the '30s rural US, one of them prone to violence.
