Synopsis

Director David Lean's portrait of British war hero TE Lawrence's life during the Allies' middle eastern campaign of World War One and his failure to re-adapt to life back in England afterwards is one of the screen's most acclaimed epics. The winner of no fewer than seven Oscars (including best picture and best director), amongst the film's many virtues is a star-making turn from Peter O'Toole as the enigmatic Lawrence.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
