Synopsis

In a world entirely made up of robots, Rodney Copperbottom is a plucky inventor who leaves his hometown to make a name for himself in Robot City by presenting his ideas to his hero, inventor Bigweld. However, Bigweld's company has been taken over by the mercenary Phineas T Ratchet - who, Rodney discovers, has a nefarious scheme to turn old robots into scrap. Although its plot is slightly predictable, this CG animation from Blue Sky Studios (the makers of Ice Age) has more than enough great voice talent and gag-packed frames.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
