Synopsis

While on their way to start a new life in New Guinea, the Robinson family are shipwrecked on a tropical island. The parents and their three sons discover a wide variety of animals and plants on the small island, and resolve to make the best of their situation, building a giant treehouse to live in. But at the same time, they must contend with the hardships of trying to survive in nature at its wildest, and also with the threat of a gang of pirates who roam the waters around the island. Will they ever be able to make it back to civilisation?

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
