Synopsis

Two friends, Thelma and Louise, drive off for a weekend away from their dreary lives. What they get instead is a wild adventure that both puts them in all kinds of danger, but also makes them feel alive in a way they have not done in years. This is terrific film, but one that always causes a lot of debate. Is it a man-hating film, as some people claimed? Or is it actually an irresponsible fantasy rather than a feminist breakthrough? The truth is, it's still incredibly exciting whether it gets you arguing or not.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
