Synopsis

Sometimes the simplest stories are the ones we find the most powerful - and that's certainly true of The Fox and The Child. It tells the story of a young girl growing up in the French countryside who keeps seeing a wild fox out in the woods near her home. Soon, she becomes determined to make friends with the animal - but as the tale unfolds, the question becomes if a human and a fox can ever really share in each other's lives? Gentle and unhurried, The Fox and The Child has such beautiful scenes of life among wild foxes that it almost feels like a documentary.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
