As the decade draws to a close, many people are looking back at the 2010s and thinking about the films that have defined the last ten years for them; movies that have reaped rewards and that beg to be revisited. Here at Into Film, we've naturally decided to focus on the films that we believe have put younger audiences first.
Be it a crowd-pleasing animation or a small human drama, these films all have the educational and emotional value that make them perfect for a younger audience.
Full of warmth, kindness, community, and decency, as well as being absolutely hilarious, Paul King's sequel captures everything that made generations fall in love with the Peruvian bear in Michael Bond's stories, as well as in the original film, placing him at the heart of a modern, diverse and inclusive Britain. Add a perfect cast, a bonkers musical number and some delightful slapstick and you have one of the most enchanting children's films of this - or any - decade.

The amazing success of Tomboy lies in its simplicity. What could have been a complicated moral tale turns into a powerful but easy-to-follow film about identity and growing up. Director Céline Sciamma is able to replicate the joys and confusion of childhood so that the film resonates with both children and adults alike.
Of course, one of the most wonderful things about cinema is that we always have so much to look forward to. With 2020 just around the corner, audiences are already anticipating films such as dark comedy Jojo Rabbit and 25th Bond film No Time to Die, rumoured to be Daniel Craig's final bow as 007. Even video game icon Sonic the Hedgehog is getting his own movie - so here's to the next 12 months, and the next decade of powerful, entertaining and educational films for the younger generation!
