Rated 11+ for threat and moderate horror
We are pleased to announce that Spooked, an atmospheric short film made by young people from Moore Arts in Millom, Cumbria has been announced as the winner of November's of Film of the Month competition.
Written and directed by a group of talented young filmmakers - who also star in the film - Spooked is a supernatural thriller set in a museum and showed great use of light to create drama and suspense. The film was created by six talented young people and follows a museum cleaner as he tries to escape an exhibition of Victorian waxwork children who mysteriously come to life. The aspiring filmmakers, aged 9 to 17 were shortlisted alongside seven other entries and took just 5 days to make the film, which was supported by Cumbria Community Foundation.
I really enjoyed this horror/thriller. They worked as one unit and it came off really well with some very nice shots and very good use of what they had to work with.
Frank Horrocks, Into Film Judge
We spoke to 9-year-old filmmaker Louie who said of the group's win: "It feels good I am really excited!" Talking about the history of the project, Louie said "I started the film club with Beggar's in the summer holidays and that was my first time doing films. I have always liked watching films and been into drama, it's hard but it's worth it."
Spooked will now be showcased to over 300,000 film club members online and on the Into Film YouTube channel, and also secured the makers a £100 Amazon voucher plus an Into Film goodie bag.
