Congratulaitons to Haringey Tuition Service, whose affecting film The Broken Rose has won the ICAP Charity Day Award (Sponsored by ICAP) at the Into Film Awards 2019 - a special category recognising the films made as part of our ICAP-funded Moving Minds filmmaking project. Their award was presented to them by actor Tom Davis, who has been a passionate supporter of the Moving Minds project throughout.
Many young people suffer from social anxiety which makes it difficult for them to do normal things like attend school or mix with friends. The Broken Rose depicts the challenges of going out into a scary and overwhelming world - and the rewards of meeting that challenge head on.
The Broken Rose was one of 19 mental wellbeing-themed films that were produced by young people as part of our Moving Minds Filmmaking Project. Thanks to funding raised when Into Film were lucky enough to be invited to take part in ICAP Charity Day in 2017, the project gave 200 young people aged 11-19 the chance to work with professional filmmakers to devise and create their own short film on an aspect of wellbeing that they thought was significant.
The Broken Rose may have been selected as the ultimate Award winner, but all of the films produced are of incredibly high quality, and have valuable things to say about the way young people navigate their own mental health. You can watch the full roster of Moving Minds films below.
