Into Film Clubs

The 6th annual Into Film Awards took place on Monday 4 March 2019, celebrating the best and brightest young filmmaking talent from across the UK, as well as championing inspiring teachers and incredible Into Film Clubs.
Hosted by TV presenter Radzi Chinyanganya, the ceremony took place at London's beautifully refurbished ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, meaning the young nominees walked the same red carpet as many of the film world's finest. Indeed, we were joined by some huge names from the world of cinema, as actors such as Eddie Redmayne, Luke Evans and Lily James were joined by directors including Michael Pearce (Beast) and Amma Asante (A United Kingdom), while even comedian, actor and children's author David Walliams stopped by to present an award. Of course, the Into Film Awards is all about the young nominees, and this year's raft of winners was another unforgettable showcase of the breadth and depth of talent, imagination and passion that exists within young people across the UK. From politically minded films about foodbanks and the declining mining industry, to powerful fables about online safety and mental wellbeing, the quality and impact of the winning films cannot be overstated. Our three Ones to Watch provide a further indication that the future of the UK film industry is in good hands.
The Into Film Awards also honoured exceptional teachers and Into Film Clubs, shining a light on those that help facilitate the outpouring of creativity that the Awards celebrate. As well as spotlighting budding young film critics, an audience poll was run to discover 2019's Family and Young Person's Film of the Year, while two new Awards provided an extra element to proceedings. The ICAP Charity Day Award demonstrated the results of the filmmaking project we were able to run thanks to funds raised at ICAP Charity Day in 2017, while our Audience Choice Award gave our audiences the chance to have their say and vote for their favourite film out of all of the nominees. And for the first time ever, one amazing film managed to win two Into Film Awards!
It's clear that none of the young people at the Awards will ever forget the experience, but we're sure it won't be the last time they end up walking a red carpet. Congratulations again to all of our nominees and winners, and we look forward to seeing more from them in the years to come not to mention at next year's Into Film Awards!
