Into Film Clubs
Find out everything you need to know about starting an Into Film Club.
After a virtual ceremony in 2020 and a brief hiatus in 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are incredibly excited to reveal that the Into Film Awards will be returning in full force for 2022.
The Into Film Awards is the best place to showcase young filmmaking talent, with categories designed to highlight the large pool of young creatives in the UK, as well as to celebrate budding film critics, inspirational educators and transformative Into Film Clubs.
Below, check out all the categories (including some brand new ones), as well as a number of crucial resources that can help you get started on making your future award winning film!
If you and your students are keen to make a short film but don't know where to begin, we've got plenty of resources across all age ranges that can provide a simple and easy jumping off point.
Our mini filmmaking guides explain every stage of the film production process from development to distribution, whereas Six Sessions from Story to Screen gives a clear structure on how to make a film in half a term. Get Into Animation is also divided into six sessions but as the name suggests, focuses on the unique nature of the animation process. Finally, our new Moving Minds 2: Building Resilience resource can help your older students to shape their thoughts on sensitive and impactful topics ranging from mental health to social and environmental justice through narrative filmmaking as part of the 'Changes for a Better World' category.
The brilliant previous winners in 2020, 2019 and beyond can also offer some great inspiration and provide a more practical sense of what we're looking for in each category:
Head over to the main Into Film Awards page for specific information on each category's entry criteria. Please note more broadly though that you must be aged 20 or over to submit an entry - if you are aged 19 or under, please ask a parent, guardian, educator, or other adult to submit your entry.
The deadline for entries is 31 March 2022 and even if you submit before then, you can return to your entry and edit it up until that date. Meanwhile, the ceremony for all nominees is scheduled for 28 June 2022 and promises to be another fun and glitzy event in London at the ODEON Luxe Leicester Square, with famous faces from across the film industry on hand to present the Awards.
To enter the Awards, you'll need to be logged in to your Into Film Account. If you don't have an Account, it only takes a second to set one up!
