Create your own Playlists with Into Film+

Since launching the Into Film+ streaming service in 2021, we've continuously worked to improve the service and add even more features to help educators get the best use out of it. The latest feature we're proud to launch is the ability for you to create your very own playlists.

Late last year, we introduced Into Film+ highlights, which allows you to save a useful scene (or short segment of a film) from a feature or short film on Into Film+ and then easily play it back whenever you need, making it easier than ever to use film to quickly illustrate all sorts of topics or themes in the classroom.

Now, we've taken the next step, giving you the opportunity to assemble your created highlights into your very own playlists, which will appear in a new 'My Playlists' tab on your account page. That means, rather than having to navigate to different film pages to play all of your highlights around a certain theme or topic, you can now bring them together into a playlist and access them all at once.

Your playlists could run through a series of highlights that illustrate a particularly important point, or your playlist could be used to present highlights from films that explore the same topic from differing points of view. You can create as many playlists as you like to support your teaching - the only limit is your imagination.

Into Film Playlists

If you need some inspiration, you can take a look at some our own playlists, assembled by our expert curation team. For secondary learners, our Film Studies: Sound playlist that uses highlights from films such as Whiplash, Arrival and Selma to explore how sound can enhance a film's storytelling and artistry.

Or, for primary, our Monsters playlist uses highlights from films including The Nightmare Before Christmas, Song of the Sea and The Witches to explore the theme of monsters and how they are depicted in film - a perfect tool to use in the classroom as Halloween approaches.

But of course, you don't have to take our lead - you have the freedom to create playlists around whatever topic, theme, or curriculum subject you want. What's more, in the near future we'll be adding the ability to share your playlists with other educators across the UK, helping the playlists you assemble to help benefit even more teachers and young learners. Into Film and the Into Film+ streaming service is supported by the UK film industry through Cinema First and the BFI through National Lottery Funding, thanks to National Lottery players.
