This thrilling true story explores some of the history of air travel in the UK, while also providing rip-roaring entertainment and including strong performances from the two lead actors, Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones.

Set in 1862, ambitious scientist James Glaisher is joined by pilot Amelia Wren on a balloon expedition in the hope of flying higher than anyone in history and to return with several discoveries. This extremely dangerous journey, where the air is thin and they only have each other to rely on, forces them to reveal and define themselves outside of society.

Meeting Gorbachev; Luce

Meeting Gorbachev is an intensive look at one of the most fascinating political figures of the 20th century as influential director Werner Herzog sits down with Mikhail Gorbachev, former president of the Soviet Union, to discuss his life and political career - this thoughtful doc is perfect for history and politics students to mull over in the classroom.

Finally, Luce concerns a married couple whose lives are turned upside down when they are forced to confront the fact that their son may be exhibiting threatening behaviour in school. A slow-burn thriller that explores elements of class and muses over moral and ethical quandaries within the family unit.

Yesterday

Jack is a struggling musician whose dreams of pop stardom are slowing disappearing despite the support coming from his childhood best friend and manager, Ellie.

After a freak accident, he wakes up to discover that the world has forgotten one of the most famous and influential bands of all-time, The Beatles, and he sets about recreating their songs, soon becoming a music sensation across the world. However, he soon realises that fame and fortune might mean losing Ellie, the one person who always believed in his talent. Yesterday is a hugely entertaining fantasy about the joy that music brings to people, respecting intellectual property and the cost of super-stardom.
