After Bo Peep leaves Woody and the rest of her friends behind, Woody's new kid, Bonnie, is set to start kindergarten. Struggling with the anxiety of going somewhere new and worried about making friends, Bonnie crafts a toy friend from a spork who then magically comes to life after she writes her name on the bottom of it. Quickly realising how important Forky is in Bonnie's life Woody resolves to protect the new toy at all costs. But when Forky goes missing on a family trip, Woody and co with the help of some friends, old and new must recover him. Toy Story 4 is a funny and heartfelt sequel about finding strength and discovering your purpose.

The Flood
Also out in this weeks is timely drama The Flood, in which immigration officer Wendy is tasked with a high-profile case that forces her to question her morals and her career. Haile is a refugee who is forced to run from his home-country under the threat of death his dangerous journey unfolds in parallel with the sterile scenes of his interview at the immigration centre. As well as being a compelling story of survival, The Flood is also an accessible and comprehensive account of the process and difficulties people must face when seeking asylum in the United Kingdom.
New to Order on DVD
If Beale Street Could Talk
Arriving on DVD this week is director Barry Jenkin's follow up to his hugely successful film Moonlight. Tish is a recently engaged African-American woman in 1970s Harlem, who is forced into a race against time to gather evidence proving the innocence of her fiancée before the birth of their first child, after he is falsely accused of a monstrous crime. Era and setting are vividly and poetically recalled in this lyrical adaptation of the acclaimed James Baldwin novel. This is an important and topical film with plenty to say about familial, gender, and race relations in contemporary society.

Boy Erased
Rounding off this week's home releases is Boy Erased, in which Jared, an Arkansas teenager, is sent to a gay conversion therapy centre by his highly religious parents. Soon realising that the staff's methods are forceful and unpleasant, Jared looks back on the formative experiences that have led him to the centre and the complex relationships in his life. Based on the memoirs of the same name, Boy Erased is a hard-hitting drama which explores themes around sexuality, religion and family.
