The 3Cs (colour, camera, character) and the 3Ss, (story, setting, sound) can be used to help students discuss and analyse all the elements of a film text. These cards have been designed to be cut out and inserted into a giant pocket dice. Working with a dice on this scale is accessible and engaging for students with Special Educational/Additional Support Needs or younger learners that may find working with a small dice challenging. Working with the 3Cs and 3Ss dice enables students to make connections between the features of all texts, and develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
After viewing a film sequence, just roll the dice and ask your students one of the corresponding questions.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
