Medium (5-11 activities)
This six-lesson scheme of work, aimed at students aged 11-16, uses short clips from the documentary He Named Me Malala to explore the themes and issues portrayed in the film. Thought-provoking topics surrounding unity, peace and education in the face of terrorism are explored whilst introducing students to writer's purpose, as well as stimulating creative and non-fiction writing.
Lesson One - Introducing Malala
Introduces Malala to students, comparing an extract of her autobiography with that of Nelson Mandela's, to better understand the writer's craft.
