Synopsis

Zahra and her brother, Ali, live with their parents in Tehran, Iran’s capital city. The family struggles to make ends meet and Ali is expected to help out. When he accidentally loses Zahra’s shoes, he is forced to share his own shoes with her. Unsurprisingly, this proves complicated. Unable to recover or replace the missing shoes, Ali has an opportunity to win a new pair in a race. The film explores its fascinating Tehran backdrop while highlighting some of the difficulties faced by families living in poverty, and illustrating the resourcefulness and determination of children.
