Synopsis

Into Film and Encounters Short Film Festival have teamed up to present a selection of great short films suitable for ages 11-14, all of which were programmed by young people at an Into Film workshop in June this year. Including animation, live action and documentary the films explore a variety of stories and issues relevant to those in the transitioning years of 11 to 14. Ranging from the cult of the selfie and pressures to be fashionable, to fascinating insights into young people’s hobbies and imaginative illustrations of what it means to be an individual, this is a strong selection of films for young people, chosen by young people.

Films in this collection are:

Mr Selfie

Dreaming of Peggy Lee

Catwalk

Jasper's Garage

The Girl Who Spoke Cat

Evanescent

Giovanni and the Water Ballet

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
