On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first man in history to walk upon the surface of the Moon, winning the Space Race for the US against the Russians. This biopic tells the story behind the Apollo 11 mission, focusing on the dangers and sacrifices made by the astronaut in both his personal and professional life, as well as the cost it would have on the nation. Adapted from a biography, this sees ‘La La Land’ director-actor duo Damien Chazelle and Ryan Gosling reunite for a visceral experience exploring themes around masculinity and mental health.
