Synopsis

Aladdin is a plucky, young orphan who lives on the streets of Agrabah, a city ruled by the rich and powerful Sultan. Surviving by stealing food, with help from his pet monkey Abu, Aladdin meets the Sultan’s daughter, Princess Jasmine, and soon falls in love. Eager to meet her again, he agrees to steal a precious lamp after the Sultan’s advisor, Jafar, promises him untold riches and power in return. When he discovers that the lamp houses a genie who will grant him three wishes, Aladdin vows to win Princess Jasmine’s heart but Jafar has other plans for the genie. This vibrant and colourful remake of the classic Disney animation blends fantasy, romance and comedy with some show-stopping musical numbers.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."
