Ariel - the beautiful but naive daughter of Triton, King of the Sea, dreams of life above the water and is fascinated by the humans who live on land. One day, Ariel dares to venture to the surface against her fathers wishes and she soon meets and falls in love with handsome human Prince Eric. Desperate to have the chance to be with him, she calls upon banished evil sea witch Ursula to make her human too but this wish comes with a great sacrifice. Loosely based on the story by Hans Christian Anderson, this iconic Disney film is full of lively aquatic songs and colourful underwater environments.
This Victorian-set story about a chimney sweep who finds a new life underwater is a winning combination of live action and animation.
