Synopsis

The problems (and tragic coincidences) of living in an ever-more connected world are explored this tough and inventively-structured drama. It's has four storylines - set in Morocco, the US, Mexico and Japan - all linked in slightly surprising ways. Babel is often bleak in its message, but all of the stories are gripping in their own right, and the connections are sometimes stunning, even if you don't buy into the broader conclusion. A big-name cast - including Brad Pitt - does terrific, vanity-free work. Some dialogue is subtitled.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
