Groundbreaking drama-documentary directed by Humphrey Jennings about the lives and day-to-day work of a group of firemen during the London Blitz of World War Two, with all the parts played by real firemen. This fascinating film focuses on a new recruit as he gradually learns the ropes, and reaches its crux in his first mission as part of a team tackling a blaze in a warehouse on London's docks. The film helped convey the ordinary heroism that was taking place on the home front in an embattled 1943 Britain.
Highly-acclaimed Oscar-winning drama about corruption and surveillance in Communist East Germany.
