The power a teacher has to forever change the lives of his or her pupils is at the heart of this much-loved movie. The story is set in Welton Academy, a conservative American private school in the late 1950s - a place where conformity is demanded and imagination suppressed. Or that is, at least, until the arrival of English teacher John Keating - a free spirit whose lessons teach the value not just of great works of literature, but of expressing your true self and following your dreams. But Keating's approach to learning doesn't find favour with everyone connected with Welton in this unforgettable drama of school life.
Contains mild violence and a couple of uses of bad language.
