In the second section of this set of three resources based on exclusive Into Film Behind The Scenes footage , Jess gains even more insight into what goes into making a stop-motion feature film. Here, we learn about how the animators bring character to the plasticine puppets, and the tricks used to make them seem alive before exploring the intricately made model sets, and learns about the importance of setting to a film. The resource looks at the steps that go into actually making a stop motion animation come to life, including set building and making characters. Students will then be able to start making their own stop motion animation. The next resource in this series, Shaun the Sheep: secret of sound introduces students to creating their own soundtracks.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
