This Into Film resource was written by Teach First teachers, for the BFI's Sci-Fi: Days of Fear and Wonder blockbuster season. The resource contains synopses, clips from the film Attack the Block, discussion ideas, UK-wide cross-curricular links and a range of activities. Students will discuss the issues surrounding how young people are portrayed in the media. The core of the lesson will then focus on a discussion around how young people are portrayed in the film and how the director attempts to unravel some of these stereotypes through humour, and by giving his protagonists a backstory.

Updating our resources

We have developed a large catalogue of educational resources since launching in 2013, and some references and terminology will inevitably have dated as society and language evolves. We are aware of this and will be updating resources when our production schedule allows.
