Synopsis

Thirty years after the Galactic Empire was defeated by the Rebels, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Princess Leia and Chewbacca return in a continuation of the epic space saga. They are joined by a host of new faces, led by Rey, a scavenger on a desert planet, Finn, a self-doubting stormtrooper, and Kylo Ren, a mysterious new villain hell-bent on emulating the work of his idol Darth Vader. The Galactic Empire has been replaced by a fascistic new force known as the First Order and it is up to a new Resistance to try and stop them. Spectacular intergalactic battles ensue in a film that skilfully seeks to blend the old and the new, with state-of-the-art technology combining with the earthier filmmaking that made the original triology so loved.

What our educators say

"It really is a chance for us to open children's minds to the power of film not just as a vehicle for entertainment but also as a way in to understanding their own world and the worlds of people whose lives are very different."

- Marlon Perkins, Teacher, Whitstable and Seasalter Endowed CofE Junior School, Kent
