Koda, Sachi and Chika are three sisters living together in Kamakura, a city south of Tokyo. Having been left by their father and mother who both ran away with different partners, they were brought up by their late grandmother. Hearing about the death of their father, they reluctantly attend his funeral only to discover they have a 13-year-old half-sister, Sozu. A wonderfully eccentric teenager, the sisters realize despite her young age Sozu had been looking after their father in his ill health and left to her own devices by her mother. Keen to get to know her better, they invite Sozu to stay with them and the four go on a journey of discovery of each other and their family’s past. Warm-hearted and gentle, this is a sensitive exploration of sisterly bonds, parental love and family through the eyes of four young people on the cusp of adulthood.
Immensely moving Japanese drama about two young families who discover their six year-old children were mistakenly switched at birth.
